How long should a battery last?
Usually 1 year, depends on the
watch, some watches drain batteries
faster than others. Often as a
movement gets older it drains more
battery power.
When should a battery be replaced?
We recommend batteries be changed
annually. Batteries can leak and
cause damage to the movement.
Water got into my watch?
Bring it in immediately. We
will open it up and dry it out to
prevent rust developing.
Is
my watch waterproof?
No - unless it's a special divers
watch that is periodically serviced and
pressure tested. Check your
owner's manual.
What does water resistant mean?
A properly sealed watch is water
resistant. Moisture can enter a
watch through the openings: around the
glass face, through the winder and
through the watches back case.
Each of those areas has a gasket.
Gaskets deteriorate and wear out.
To maintain water resistance, each of
those seals needs to be periodically
replaced. Best to keep any watch
away from moisture.
Condensation formed under my crystal?
Happens with sudden, extreme
temperature change. The air inside
your watch is a different temperature
than the air outside.
Sudden extreme change causes
condensation. Bring it to the
store, we'll open it up and dry it out
to ensure the moisture doesn't cause
damage.
How accurate should my watch be?
Depends on the quality of the
movement. Any battery powered
watch will be more accurate than its
manual counterpart. A quartz watch will be within seconds a
month while a quality manual watch will
be within seconds a day.
Can I change my own watch battery?
If you feel lucky. We repair
many watches damaged by unqualified
people trying to change a battery or
install an incorrect battery.

When does my manual watch need service?
If it doesn't keep time. A
manual watch has over 200 parts, a
precision instrument that runs 24/7.
Occasionally the movement needs to be
disassembled cleaned, lubricated and
electronically adjusted.
Do you service premium watches?
Yes we service Rolex, Omega, Baume
Mercier, Cartier, Concord and most
premium brands. Many premium watch
manufacturers don't sell their original
parts - forcing owners to send watches
to them for service and pay exorbitant
prices.
Replacement parts are usually available.
Before sending it in, check with us for
options, we could save you hundreds of
dollars.
Do
you repair clocks?
Battery operated clocks and smaller
manual clocks. We do not repair
electric clocks. At this time we
are not accepting larger manual clocks
for repair.
What are the most serious watch repair
issues?
Moisture in a watch and damage done
in changing the battery.
Can I mail my watch in for repair?
