Warranties

We carefully inspect every item when it enters our inventory and we inspect it again before it goes into your gift box.  Warranty situations are rare but regrettably, it isn't a perfect world and sometimes they may occur.

JK Schmidt Jewellers and our suppliers warranty all items we sell.  If an item is found to be defective in material or workmanship within one year of purchase, the item will be repaired or replaced at no charge to you.

Extended Warranty

For most diamond items JK Schmidt Jewellers includes a 10-point "Certified Quality Guarantee."  This guarantee provides additional warranty and services. [details]  This extended warranty is provided at no additional charge to you.

Timepieces

For watches and clocks please refer to the warranty that came with the watch for what is covered and for how long.

Watch warranties range from one year and up, dependent on brand.  Watches need to be returned to the manufacturer for major warranty repairs. 

JK Schmidt Jewellers will look after sending the watch purchased from us for you, and you will only be responsible for postage charges.  Our watchmakers will look after any minor repairs for you.

For pre-owned Rolex watches, JK Schmidt Jewellers warranties them for 1 year.  An extended 3 year warranty may be purchased at time of sale.

What is NOT Covered by Our Warranty

Items that have been repaired, altered or sized by persons or businesses other than JK Schmidt Jewellers.  Reputable jewellers warranty their work, refer to them for problems with an item following their repair, sizing or alteration.

Items that have been abused or damaged, voids their warranty.
 
Items that have been in your possession for longer than a year are no longer under warranty.

Please appreciate that a warranty is not an insurance policy, a warranty covers defects in material or workmanship only, not damage caused to an item.

Out of Warranty

If an item is not covered by warranty we will work with you to find a solution at a reasonable repair or replacement cost.
