The goldsmith files and
polishes the rough gold casting. This is the
preliminary stage of finishing. The ring will go
through many processes of cleaning and polishing until
it is perfect, smooth and gleaming.
Assembling
the ring. Most quality rings are made of
separately cast pieces. The settings for the
stones could be separate pieces. A ring could be
assembled of different sections each a different colour
of gold.
The ring
is meticulously cleaned, polished and buffed until it
sparkles. This mount is ready for the gem setter,
who sets the gemstones into the ring. Then a final
polish and off to the showcase or onto a lucky person's
finger.
